Golfing in February? YES!

The winter so far has been quite mild and breaking records rqch day.  I can't believe that is the beginning of Febraury and there is no snow on the ground. The temperatures are the high fifties and low sixties every day.  We decided to take advantage of this by going to hit range balls with Connor at the local Bonneville muni.  The boys loved it especially Ethan.   They both would have stayed for hours, but unfortunately the golf balls ran out.

Saturday Job Charts

Sometimes on Saturdays we get creative with our job chart system to hope for enthusiastic helpers! A successful one has been "the Amazing Family Clean-up Race" where we are divided into teams and given different tasks to complete, and you have to return with a ticket from each. This particular Saturday Jake created this totally awesome game board for Saturday chores and it rocked! The boys loved it and everything got done!  These boys are so lucky to have such an awesome Dad!

Funny Faces with Lincoln

After the bath one night Lincoln and I sat and made faces in the mirror. He was so cute copying my faces! This little guy has great personality!!

10 year getaway and skiing

To celebrate our ten years of marriage we decided to go skiing!!!! We didn't go in December around our anniversary, but went when we could have Grammy watch the boys for two days so we could spend the night together.  So we ended going skiing on Camille's birthday so it was extra special.  It was so nice to get our of the inversion and up in the beautiful mountains to enjoy the clean fresh air and the white snow.  Although it hasn't been a great snow year there was still plenty for us to go.  We went to Brighton just up the canyon and had a blast.  This is the first time that Camille has skied in 10 years and for me 3 years.  It was so much fun, but for as much fun as we had we were also that much sore.  We realized that although skiing can be quite expensive it is a great thing that we should get our kids involved with.  It provides opportunities for us to spend time together as a family and bond with them.  The only thing I don't know is if our bodies could hold up to much skiing throughout the years.

After skiing we went up to the Hilton Garden Inn in Ogden to spend the night in a master suite that I had won at the BYU Law golf tournament.  The hotel was located right next to the new Ogden temple and it was quite a happening place with all of the new construction and event center in this revitalized area of Ogden.  We enjoyed our time together and exploring without worrying about bedtime for kids and just being carefree.  At the Mexican restaurant we even ran into Bishop and Sister Ray from the Peachtree Corners ward in Atlanta.  We new that they moved to Utah not long after we did and have ran into them once before.  It was ironic that we ran into them in Ogden because they live in Provo and we live in Sandy!

The next day we went to the Ogden temple which was amazing and so beautiful!  That temple has to be one of the most ornate with marble and woodwork throughout.  It is definitely a holy and magnificent.  We are grateful that 10 years ago we were married at the right time, in the right place, and by the right authority.  That single decision has had a huge impact on our life and family.  It truly will shape our lives throughout the eternities.

January Phone Cam

I can't believe January has come and gone! But here it is in a nut shell. :)

My helpful bread makers!

Making strawberry jam in January, and licking the bowl!

Happy Birthday Uncle Connor!!

Boo Lincoln!!

Another year older for me!

I gassed up for $1.39!!! I love Smiths fuel points!

Christian went on his frozen yogurt birthday date with Grammy. The boys love this!!!!

Lincoln climbed on the table for the gazillionth time! This is a busy boy! :)

And then I have caught him on top of the piano multiple times. Yes, that's the very top!

Played on the playground and it turned out to be colder yea we thought! We borrowed a coat for Linc. :)

Piano lessons...I love watching Ethan on the piano!

I got to help at a Cub Scout den meeting at Home Depot and Christian had his first pack meeting and earned his Bobcat!

I went to a way-over-the-top baby shower for my cousin! But at least we got some glamour shots taken! Not to mention a few needed hours out of the house. :)

December Phone Cam

Owen and I decorated the bland door to the garage. Definitely a great addition to the kitchen and my kind of craft! I think this snowman will make his appearance every year!

Swinging in December in a jacket? Not complaining!

Christian and Ethan set up a soccer field using blue painters tape...who knew tape would stick to grass?? Such creative boys!

Cute shepherd boys for the primary nativity at the ward Christmas party.

Our new family picture taken at church for the ward family picture wall. Gag. We kind of hate it. And I didn't even manage to comb anyone's hair that morning. Here's to the memory of the awful photo.

Kindergarten Christmas...ethan the reindeer and Chase, his first gift of Christmas

Christian's letter to Santa (I'm not sure why he wrote it on a napkin)

Nursery Nativity--Owen had the best nursery leader! We have loved Sister Holly and are lucky enough that she is his Sunbeam teacher now!

Merkley Family extended party, the boys had so much fun with Asher!

Gurr Family Christmas Eve breakfast

The boys got a Double Shot from Grammy and Papa for Christmas.  It has provided countless hours of entertainment!

We managed to get in one afternoon of sledding between Christmas, New Years and Christian's baptism.  Christian bought his own new saucer with his birthday money and it was cracked by the end and left in the dumpster.  Lessons learned. :)

Cute Christmas card from Ethan:

"Dear Mom
Every year you give me good presents."

Christian's Elf of himself:

Christmas Eve Jammies

The boys love getting new jammies from Grammy every Christmas Eve. And I love my little boys in their new cozy jammies!! This picture is priceless.

Little Reminders

I found this scene under the Christmas tree one afternoon while cleaning up. I'm so grateful for the little reminders that make it all worth it!! And judging by the treasure chest, I'm gonna bet it was Owen. I just love that little boy!! ❤️❤️❤️

New Years Eve

New Years Eve fire and s'mores...definitely a great tradition!!

Jazz Game

I had our second father son date to the Jazz game with Christian this year!  We already attended one game with Christian's junior jazz team and this time we went with Grammy and Papa.  Christian likes going to the Jazz game and laughs at what the Jazz bear does for entertaining fans...like spraying silly string on people.  We had a good time and it was fun to spend the night with him.
