The other day I was making pizza and Owen hauled a stool over, climbed up, and started sticking his finger in the sauce and licking it off. "Mmmm!" was his reaction, and then he just kept sticking and licking. He was NOT happy when I insisted on putting the pizza in the over, and threw his little fit. But lucky for him, I hadn't rinsed out the bowl from the sauce yet, so I let him go to town. And that he did!! Silly boy! I guess he loves pizza sauce!

Jake's Job---Structural Design Studio
This post is dedicated to Jake. :)
We moved here for his job, and it has been fabulous! A huge step up from his job in Atlanta, in so many ways, but especially in flexibility, work atmosphere, family friendly, commute and a great place for Jake to progress professionally. We are SO happy with his job. And they are a fantastic company. So here's a little plug for them...
They just launched a new company website, and it's awesome! Jake's even got his own page. :) So check it out!

HATS
This little boy, he LOVES hats.
He puts them on and off, and insists on trying yours on, if you have one.
He never wears them for more than a few moments, but he loves them.
And this particular day, it was Christian's helmet at the park.
He thought he was so funny. :)
Sidetracked
One evening we got a little sidetracked.
Plan: Drive to Heber, pick up Jake who is fly fishing, continue on to Family Reunion dinner in Wallsburg.
Reality: Drove to Heber, stopped to pick up Jake at the correct location, Jake was still fishing a WAYS down stream, boys threw rocks in the river and explored for an HOUR while we waited, finally arrived "better late than never" at the dinner, complete with dirt on our faces, burrs on our clothes, and hungry tummies.
Normally I would have been a bit irritated. :)
...But this particular evening I sat on the rocks and watched my three little boys thrilled to be waiting for Daddy to walk up the river, fully entertained picking up (and digging up) dirty rocks and throwing them in the river, intrigued by the burrs stuck on their shirts, and excited to find new paths that led to the river.
They were happy.
And I was grateful for the sidetrack.
